Current Skincare Items (August 2011)

I do change my skincare items around very often but here are my current summer skincare items. Keep in my that I have combination skin, slightly oily in the t-zone but majority of my skin is dry.

L'Occitane Immortelle Very Precious Regenerating Concentrate
I mix this serum with my day and night moisturizer since I have some dry skin this really help hydrate them. I can't say if this help with anti-winkle but I like it anyway.

Merlot Natural Grape Seed Moisturizer SPF 15
This is my day moisturizer I love how light this moisturizer feels and its not heavy feeling so its perfect for the hot weather. Although if I do plan to stay outdoors longer I would wear a different moisturizer with higher SPF.

Garnier Nutritionist Eyecream with SPF 15 as my day eye cream and Merlot Grape Seed Eye Cream as my night eyecream both are very hydrating although I favor the Merlot one better, I wish they came out with a SPF eye cream.

Origins Antioxident Cleanser
I only use this cleanser when I'm wearing makeup to deep clean otherwise its too drying for my skin to use daily. This cleanser was free from Origins during Earth Day when you trade in an empty beauty container for a cleanser.

Garnier Nutrioniste Moisture Rescue
Once again my all time favorite gel cream, I use this at night mixing it with the L'occitane serum. For a full review of this product click "here"

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
I use this every morning and night if I'm not wearing makeup that day. Its very gentle and does not dry out my skin.

Witch Hazel
I use this as a toner, its cheaper, gentle and I think it works better then a regular toner.

Of course once Fall comes along all my lotions and creams will change since my skin tends to get drier and I will make another updated post on that.

Thank you for reading!

June Most Used Products 2011, Skincare only

Since I've been using the same makeup items from my previous "favorites" I thought this time I would share skincare items instead.

1) Missha Super Aqua Hydrating Emulsion: Even though its summer where I live my skin still have dry patches here and there sometimes. This lotion really help hydrate my skin without feeling super oily/greasy on warm weather days. I purchase this during the Missha website sale for $13 a while back.

2) Merlot Grape Seed SPF 15 Face Lotion: Perfect moisturizer for the summer I love the gel-like texture and its a bit thicker then my favorite Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream

3) Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Eye Cream SPF 15: Its always good to use a eye cream with SPF in all seasons. I believe this product is discontinue because I bought this at Marshalls.

4) Mac Fix+ Spray: I use to use this as my makeup setting spray but I feel like its does nothing so instead I use it as a toner after cleansing my face, it feels very refreshing on my skin.

5) Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Face Cleanser: One of my favorite cleanser, it does nothing with clearing your complexion but its very gentle and smells very nice.

Hope you like today's post, thank you for reading!

My Summer Must Have

Some of my favorite beauty products for the summer

1) Vasiline Aloe Vera Gel Moisturizer: This is my favorite moisturizer for summer it feels very refreshing and non-sticky to the skin and its great with sunburn and after shave to help soothe redness.

2) Lubriderm Lotion with SPF: I'm very picky when it comes to SPF lotions because I hate the smell and sticky-ness on my skin but this lotion is very light. It doesn't have much of a high SPF which is fine with me since I don't go out in the day often but when I do go out for a long period of time I use the Shiseido one.

3) MAC Tendertone Lipbalm: This is a discontinue item but I found mines at the CCO, I like this lipbalm it feels very moisturizing and gives a nice glossy look and non-sticky feel on the lips.

4) Garnier Nutritioniste Eye Cream with SPF 15: Just like moisturizers its very important to have a eye cream that also have sun protection.

5) Garnier Nutritioniste Gel Cream: I made a full review of this product here this is still my favorite summer moisturizer to use at night, it feels very refreshing and light.

1) Benefit Coralista Blush: This is a gorgeous coral blush for the summer and it really warms up my complexion.

2) Rimmel Stay Matte Powder: This does a great job keeping my t-zone matte

3) NYC Sunny Bronzer: I love this bronzer because its not too dark and its matte so it looks natural on

4) Garnier Nutritioniste Tinted Eye Roller: I don't have a heavy dark undereye so I use this a concealer since its very light

5) Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: Since foundations can look very heavy in the summer I like to use tinted moisturizers instead and this one has been my favorite since.

Review: Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream

Where to Buy: any drugstores
Price: ranges from $5.99- $7.99 depending on where you get them

What Garnier says:
Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream locks in moisture and blocks out dryness using a formula with a unique combination of a pure antioxidant fruit water extract and skin conditioning vitamins. Its luxurious, ultra-light texture is a breakthrough in hydration. For 24 hours of refreshing hydration.

My Review:
This is one of my first Garnier moisturizer purchase, I remember seeing an ad for this in a magazine when they mention "Gel" formula which got me interested. I have been using this for almost a month so far and I'm really lovin this product!

I have combination/dry skin and this moisturizer really help balance my dry and oily areas. I love the refreshing feeling when apply and because the product is very thin and watery consistency that you only need a pea-size amount to cover the whole face. After applied to the face my skin felt very soft even in the oily areas which I was really impressed! I only use this product at night because it don't have any sun protections to use during the day.

Overall this is my new favorite moisturizer that's good for the summer, great product, smells wonderful, great glass jar packaging and awesome price!

Please keep in mind that this product work differently on everyone's skin, it may work well for my skin but it doesn't always work well for the rest.

Rating: 5/5!
Would I buy this again?: yes
