Current makeup favorites

1)      Tony Moly Blush in Milky Violet

This year I’ve been into light pastel colored blushes and even mixing them with my neon pink shade blushes to give it a glowy youthful look.  I’ve tried milky pink shades but so far the ones with a purple tone look really nice on my skin.

2)      E.L.F Finishing Powder in Corrective Yellow

This is a great power to set your overall makeup look and it makes my skin look much brighter and smoother.  The best part is it’s so much cheaper than other brands out there.  It originally comes in a black packaging but I transfer the powder to a clear jar for two reasons, one so it can fit in my drawer and second so I can see the product. 

3)      Revlon Color Stay Whipped Creme Makeup

I’ve been obsessed with BB Cream that I completely ignored regular foundation and even sold a lot of them on my blog sale.  However to be honest BB Cream doesn’t give me enough coverage as a foundation would so I manage to go through my makeup stash and found my only foundation that I still kept and I’m glad I didn’t sold it!  Just like their Colorstay liquid foundation that I use to love this one applies real nicely on my skin and lasted for an entire day.  Maybe one day I’ll pick up the liquid foundation and use it again.

4)      Sonia Kashuk Sheer Liquid Tint in Poppy

I manage to purchase this item on sale at target for around $2.00 since they’re discontinued.  I really like the nice coral color look on my cheeks especially during the summer and it never faded or melt off my skin on days that were humid and hot.  For this product I only need a tiny bit for both my cheeks!

5)      Mac So Sweet,  So Easy Cream Blush

Another of one of my obsession for milky pink blushes, I like to use this cream blush as my base before I apply powder blushes. 

 

6)      Skinfood Salmon Concealer

I purchase this concealer on ebay for around $10.  It’s very creamy so a little goes a long way, it’s not heavy coverage but its buildable. 

 

1)      Etude House Cherry Fresh Tint in “Peach”

I wanted to get the Benefit Cha Cha tint since I’ve already enjoyed their Posie Tint but I didn’t want to spend a hefty $30 for another tint so I decided to try the Etude House as it was so much cheaper.  So far I really like the coral shade on my lips compare to pink shades. 

2)      The Body Shop Brow and Liner Kit in “Dark Brown/Black”

I’m still a rookie when it comes to doing my eyebrows so I’m trying to find all the good brow products in the market.  So far this Body Shop brow duo is working well for me and matches my brow and hair color perfectly without looking too dark or light. 

3)      Missha The Style Perfect Eyebrow Styler in “Gray Brown”

Another good brow product I like but in a pencil form, this one is so much more convenient to apply in the morning when I’m in a rush.  The only dislike I have on this product is the lead part keeps sliding off the tube!

Collective Drugstore Haul

Some new stuff I got over the past 2 months :]

Target
I purchase the new Garnier BB Cream which I ended up returning :p  I didn't enjoy the formula and it didn't felt like the Asian BB Creams I've tried, to me it was more like a tinted moisturizer.
I also bought the new Revlon Just Bitten lip balm stain which I only paid around $3 because I had coupon, so far I'm liking it!  Will do a review once I'm use it to.
I got the new Simple Makeup wipes since I also had a coupon for it. 

One of my most exciting purchases were these Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips.  These are perfect for people like me who suck at doing nail designs lol.  I only paid $4.27 for each of these since these were on clearance, as pretty and convenient these are I wouldn't paid the full price for it :[

I got two new eye brushes, one blending brush by Target brand and a small smudge brush by Sonia Kashuk. 

From their dollar section I got these cute fruit stationary that I couldn't pass up!

Also from their dollar section I bought two pink organizers

CVS
I got two of the new L'oreal Infallible eyeshadow shades since I LOVE these very much and then I went crazy on the Wet n' Wild nail polishes since these were 40% off a while back.

Whole Foods
I bought the Desert Essence Tea Tree Facial Wash ($12.99 for 32 oz that's a lot of product!) and their Tea Tree Oil.  I've heard a lot of good benefits on Tea Tree Oil and since the weather is warmer I want to try something that will keep my skin oil free.  I tried the facial wash already and so far I'm loving it!

Nail of the week

I'm usually lazy to paint my nails I guess that day it was out of the blue



What I used: (left to right)

Seche Vite base coat
Seche Vite top coat
Revlon Lilac Pastelle
L.A Colors Silver Art Deco
Nicole Drying Drops.....for extra drying speed, I have no patience :p

Not a huge fan of this Revlon nail polish, it comes off streaky and thick so it was a pain in the butt to work with, I'm not sure if all Revlon nail polishes are the same formula.

Tutorial: Blue Duo Chrome Smokey Eye

Finish Look


What I use:

1) E.L.F Eye Transformer Palette
2) Stila Eyeshadow in "Makalu" any matte eyeshadow
3) Mac Eyeshadow in "Saddle" any matte light brown
4) Revlon Cream Eyeshadow in "Coastal Blues"
5) Urban Decay Primer Potion
6) Maybelline Lash Stiletto Liner

Tutorial:

Step 1) Apply eyeshadow primer all over the lid, this will help prolong the eyeshadow


Step 2) Apply a creamy black or gray eyeshadow all over the lid, preferably black because I don't have a black cream eyeshadow I just use a gray color


Step 3) With a crease brush apply a light matte brown eyeshadow on the crease only


Step 4) With a dense eyeshadow brush apply a matte black eyeshadow on the lid only, try not to go over the crease with the brown


Step 5) Blend the black and brown eyeshadow together using the same crease brush from "Step 3", blend well to make a smooth gradient effect


Step 6) With a clean eyeshadow brush apply the blue shade from the E.L.F palette and apply it over the black eyeshadow only and blend well


Final Step Apply your favorite eyeliner and mascara

Review: Revlon Custom Creations

My Review:
This foundation is never talked about because of the Revlon Colorstay foundation that's over hyped and I personally wouldn't purchase this foundation if it wasn't from a blogger "Tuniez83" she was using it in her tutorial and it got me interested.

The concept of this foundation is you turn the dial on the to get your perfect shade, which is a interesting idea because I always end up buying two foundation shades and mix them together to get a good match on my skin.





The coverage is light to medium its not as heavy as the Colorstay but it is build-able and it blends really well.

Since my skin are more drier in the winter this wouldn't be an ideal foundation for me to use because I notice I start getting dry spots on my skin when I was using this, that's a bit of a bummer for me because the only reason I would buy liquid foundation is to use it in the winter.

Downfall is no matter which number I turn I don't really see the difference when blended together in the skin and I end up wasting half the product trying to find my 'perfect match' when its really all the same. Another negative is almost all their shade is a bit orange tone so if your skin is cool tone it may be hard to get a good match. I think I better off stick to Revlon's Colorstay until something better comes along.

Review: Revlon Mineral Finishing Powder

Note: Please know that reviews are my opinion everyone has their own opinion not everyone has the same skin.





Revlon has always been my favorite drugstore brand and I just LOVE their colorstay line, especially the foundations and liners its amazing. When I saw these new powders on display the other day I instantly though of MAC's Mineralize Skinfinishes (I'm sure you would too) because of the dome shape powder and the veins.

It is their new product in the ColorStay line "Mineral Finishing Powder" I went to grab all three I bought them without having a second thought whether if its good or not because knowing that their Colorstay line never fails on me so I assume they were good lol

I got them at CVS for around $12 the Target and Wal-mart near my house don't have them out yet because its a new product.







Brighten: is more of a highlighter its a frosty pink with silver shimmers however texture is not very smooth its sort of rough and pigmentation is very light but makes a nice highlighter. Rating: 4/5

Suntan Matte: is more of a bronzer, although they name it matte it still has a hint of bronze shimmer but not very noticeable, texture is amazingly smooth out of the two and color payoff is great. One warning is it has a orange undertone so use this product very lightly otherwise it won't look natural on. Rating 5/5

Sunkiss: a beautiful bronzer, it is darker then Suntan Matte however the texture is like brighten, grainy, but still a great product and very pigmented with gold shimmers. Rating 5/5


Comparing it with the MAC MSF (Mineralized Skinfinish) in Petticoat. As size goes the Revlon is 8.79g and MAC is 10g only a few grams difference. For price, Revlon runs about $10-$12 depending on where you get them as of MAC its around $25.

Is it comparable to MAC?: Sort of, if you own the MSF you would know that the texture and pigmentation is little better but I think its still the closest and cheapest alternative to MSF.

Would I buy this again?: Yes, as a drugstore brand I do love it!
