Tip: Storing used false lashes

I find it very useful to store used false lashes in pill organizers that you can get in dollar stores or maybe even free at some pharmacies. Before I use to put the false lashes back in its original packaging but it created too much clutter in my drawer, the pill organizer really help creating more space in my drawer :]

Reusing Makeup Jars

Every time I finish a product I always save the container that I think its worth saving like glass jars that use to contain gel/cream liners, foundations, creams.. anything. I find them very useful because I can reuse the jars for other things like giving away eyeshadow pigment samples to friends and family or store things for traveling.


Heres a finish cream eyeliner


The best way to clean them out is with any makeup remover. Soap and water don't always do the trick because some makeup are waterproof.


Squeaky clean, of course clean them again with alcohol to remove bacteria before you add any product in.


I find them very useful to store my mac pigments for travel instead of bringing the full size pigment with me. I reuse my old Napoleon Perdis jar that use to contain a concealer.


Recycling old candy containers are also useful for storing anything when traveling like my cotton swabs! :]

Tips: Prevent Eyeshadow Fallout

This question was asked from one of my anonymous reader, I thought I should make a post about this.

Heres a tip on how to remove eyeshadow pigment fallouts especially if you're someone like me who apply foundation before eyeshadow. Its really annoying to have specks of eyeshadows on you cheek and when you wipe them off the colors starts to smear and the foundation you did earlier is ruin. Everyone has their own method, here are some I sometimes do...

Before Foundation
Most people prefer applying eyeshadow before foundation that way they can remove the pigment fallouts with a makeup remover in a cotton ball.


Putting a index card or tissue underneath:
A great tip I use often, the card is like a shield to protect your cheeks from the fallouts. Tissues or napkins will also do the trick.


Translucent Face Powder
After foundation, applying a thick translucent powder on you cheeks before your eyeshadow, any inexpensive brand will do the trick.

Once eyeshadow are done use a soft powder brush to dust off the powder and the eyeshadow fallout on the top layout will come off too.


Tapping off your brush:
This method I also often use when I apply my eyeshadow which is tapping the extras that can cause fallouts before applying. I know your probably wondering if you tap it off it defeats the purpose of getting the product in the brush... You just need to tap off lightly to get rid of the lose shadows.

Makeup Bag Essentials

Besides breath mints, hand lotion, tissue etc. heres what I think every makeup junkie should have in their makeup bag. All the brands don't have to be the same as what I'm using just anything that works for you.

Heres my bag

I got this from Victoria Secret and its still my favorite bag, I've been using it for a year now and its still in great condition, its roomy, sturdy and lightweight.

What I have inside:

1) Q-tips: always a must to bring especially if you plan to wear eyeliner or mascara this comes in handy if you want to clean up any smudges throughout the day.
2)Blotting Sheets: to blot oils of course :] if you want a cheaper alternative tissues also work
3)Clean & Clear Persa-Gel: Acne control cream, just in case if you feel that nasty pimple coming
4) Smashbox Lipgloss: you eat, drink and talk so lipgloss tends to run out faster
5) Cetaphil Moisturizer: a sample size moisturizer in case for dry spots
6) L'oreal Eyeshadow Quad: Bring the eye shadows you wear for the day with you. I never need to touch up on my eyeshadow thanks to my E.L.F primer but just in case if the shadows fade.
7)Powder Brush: To use your pressed powder, I recommend using a retractable powder brush instead
8) Revlon Pressed Powder: To touch up on your foundation. Usually I don't touch up on my face but its good to have just in case
9) Napolean Perdis Concealer: If the concealer fades.
10) Pencil Sharpener: A must if you use pencil eyeliner.
11) Mirror: everyone needs to have that, but if your powder compact comes with a mirror then its not necessary.
12) Neutrogena Tinted Moisturizer: I always have it in case if I'm running late and don't have time to put on foundation at least I can put this on on-the-go for sheer coverage
13) Eyelash Curler: If your lashes decides to uncurl lol

1)Eyeshadow Brush: To use the eye shadows with
2) Perfume: you may never know lol
3) Revlon Makeup remover pen: To remove smudges, its very handy to have!
4) Rimmel Mascara: For touch ups
5) Eyeliner Pencil: Its good to have if you're the type that wears eyeliner on the lower lashes
6) L'oreal Lineur Intense Liquid Liner: it never happens before but just in case if your liner fades
7) Lash Comb: If you ever reapply mascara and it gets clumpy this is a great tool to have with you
8) Lipstick: for touch ups because lipsticks fades the fastest.

Normally I don't do much touch ups except lipgloss and blotting oils on mid day but its great to have these items if your wearing full makeup. I forgot to add always bring lash glue if your wearing fake lashes out to clubbing or anywhere its unattractive to have your lashes hanging half way on your lid.

We all love a little money saving while we buy cosmetics, as for me I always find ways to buy things affordable for me but things like the recent MAC Hello Kitty Collection I just couldn't resist, I am guilty of buying things in a instant when I hear the word "Limited Edition" which is a bad habit that I need to stop lol. However when it comes to drugstore limited or not I can stop myself to wait till its on sale.

Here are some list I made on ways to bargain shop for either High-End or Low-end, I'll start off with High-End assuming thats what most of you would want to read first :]

High-End Bargains

Stores that sell name brands for cheap
Info: Stores like TJMAXX, ROSS or Marshalls once in a while they have Too Faced, Sugar, Hard Candy, Lancome, Lola and recently I spotted Urban Decay in TJMAXX.
Positive: They usually super cheap
Negative: They don't have testers so people would open the product and swatch it which later ends up in the clearance section. So its sometimes its hard to find a brand new one that hasn't been touch unless if your lucky to be there when they just put them on stock.

Holidays
Info: usually after Christmas or during black friday online stores like Sephora, MAC, Tarte etc. would have friends and family coupon code. Most of them time you would see these codes swimming around youtube makeup gurus or bloggers.
Positive: Nothing beats going staying home and relaxed while shopping then going out there in the crowd.
Negative: You have to wait during the holidays and it applies online only so shipping cost can be a real pain unless you plan to purchase enough amount to apply free shipping.

Sites
Info: Sites like BeautyCrunch.com, ALLCosmeticWholesale.com usually have brand makeup for less cost.
Positive: Sometimes they carry makeup thats discontinue or hard to find.
Negative: Some items once its out of stock then thats it, too late lol

Makeup Shows
Info: Shows like IMATS if you live around L.A. area would sometimes have brand makeup for less like Makeup Forever and it doesn't hurt to try other new brands while you there.
Positive: N/A
Negative: if you live too far or can't get transportation to the show then you're out of luck.

Outlets
Info: Makeup outlets like Cosmetic Company Outlet (google for location near you) would carry brands like MAC, Clinique, Bobbi Brown and Estee Lauder for cheaper price I believe around 30% off original price.
Positive: They carry discontinue items
Negative: Not a wide range of variety and for some locations CCO maybe far.


Low-End/Drugstore Bargains

BOGO (Buy on get one free offers)
Info: Stores like CVS, Rite Aid or Walgreens tend to have BOGO sales every week so do check the sales ad every sunday.
Positive: N/A
Negative: They have limits of how many you can buy but seriously you can go back to the store later on to purchase again.

Websites
Info: sites like buymebeauty.com and cosmeticsandmore.com carries discount drugstore makeup. Also NYX makeup, sites like CherryCulture.com or nonpareilboutique.com carries them for much cheaper price rather from NYX actual company sites.
Positive: They carry discontinue products
Negative: Shipping cost unless you purchase enough amount to apply free shipping.

Stores
Info: places like Big Lots carry discount makeup
Negative: N/A
Positive: N/A

Coupons
Info: If you check the coupon section on Sunday ads sometimes they have coupons on L'oreal, Maybelline or Max Factor
Positive: Sometimes you can use these coupons during BOGO sales, a bonus money saving!
Negative: Some coupons applies for certain items like Mascara only or Eyeliner only.
