Tip: Reusing makeup palettes

Similar to my "Reusing makeup jar" post I also reuse makeup palettes that's still in good shape, especially ones that are too pretty or cute to toss away.

This palette was purchase from Bath and Body Works 4 years ago when they use to sell Goldie cosmetics and because its THAT old all the lipgloss and cream highligthers start to smell really bad so I knew that I had to get rid of it.

The only thing I kept in the palette were the powder eyeshadows since the pigmentation is still good so I sanitize the top layer.

What I like about this palette is that I can take the tiers out so I can easily wash the palette.

I just use a Q-Tip to scrape the lipgloss and cream stuff off.

I clean it with hand soap, dish washing detergent is actually better since its more heavy duty when cleaning the lipglosses. I use an old toothbrush to get every corners.

Once I finish I sanitize it again with alcohol, note that sometimes the glue can loosen and cause the pan to fall out but you can easily fix it by gluing it back.

Always clean the mirror and outside of the palette as well

Once I'm done I like to press my own Mac pigments, other loose eyeshadows work as well.

Viola! Homemade eyeshadow palette!

If you want to know how to press eyeshadow pigments in palettes theirs plenty of tutorials on youtube

Hope you enjoy today's post, thank you for reading!
